Applications for non-profit HOT money open in Orange

The City of Orange Hotel/Motel Tax Committee has released applications for non-profit entities within the City of Orange to apply for a portion of the City’s Hotel/Motel Tax funds. Any 501 (C) organization in the City of Orange that attracts visitors to the City of Orange, Texas can submit applications to the committee. Under Section 351.101 (b) of the Texas Tax Code, revenue from the municipal hotel occupancy tax may be used ONLY to promote tourism and the convention and hotel industry.
The application and guidelines are available on the City of Orange website at www.orangetexas.gov. Applications will be accepted from May 16, 2022, through July 15, 2022, at 5 P.M. Applied funds must be for activities occurring from October 1, 2022, through September 30, 2023.

Orange Approves EDC Incentive with Robinson Apartments

On Tuesday, the Orange City Council approved an EDC incentive with Robinson Apartments for the expenditure of funds for eligible infrastructure improvements at 811 John Avenue in an amount not to exceed $19,000 for the purpose of economic development.
Robinson Apartments has proposed an estimated capital investment of $450,000 at the project site.

On Tuesday, The Orange City Council approved an EDC incentive with Studio 17 for the expenditure of funds for eligible infrastructure improvements at 1700 W. Allie Payne Road in an amount not to exceed $150, 000 for the purpose of economic development.
Studio 17 has proposed an estimated capital investment of $1,500,000 at the project site.
