Felon in Possession of Firearm

On Thursday, May 26, 2022, officers with the Vidor Police Department served a felony warrant for Possession of a Firearm by a Prohibited Person – Title 18, U.S.C.§922(g)(1).
Rory Clifford Ellis (W/M 10/23/61), a convicted felon, was previously found in possession of a firearm on January 19, 2022, by VPD after a call for service.
Through a joint effort between VPD and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF), the case was presented to a federal grand jury and Ellis was indicted on May 11, 2022, for that offense. If convicted, Ellis could face up to 10 years imprisonment.

The City of Orange is holding a public hearing on 29 August 2023 at 5:30 PM at the Orange City Council Chambers at the Orange Public Library.
According to the notice, the proposed tax increase is under the amount that would require voter approval.
