Frank David Claybar

Frank David Claybar, 74, a lifelong resident of Orange, passed away Friday, October 6, 2022, at his home surrounded by family.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 14, 2022, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Officiating will be Reverend Jim Sichko.
Visitation will be prior to the service beginning at 10:00 a.m.
David was born in Orange, Texas on February 27, 1948. He was the son of Marjorie and Lannie Claybar. David graduated with honors from Schreiner High School in Kerrville before going on to graduate yet again with honors from Commonwealth College of Mortuary Science, becoming a licensed funeral director and embalmer in the state of Texas.
For several years, during the 1960s and 1970s, David served as President and Chief Operating Manager of Claybar Funeral Home. He always had a passion for helping people, especially as a first responder and emergency care and transport.
Under the guidance of David, Claybar Funeral Home was the first ambulance company in the United States to purchase and utilize Modular Ambulances, which are now the industry standard and currently used in Orange County, as well as being the voice and vision that brought Acadian Ambulance to Texas.
David and his wife, Peggy, owned and operated Orange Forest Lawn and Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, perpetual care cemeteries in Orange.
He had owned The Sportsman Shop, a retail boat dealership that later became Hodge Boats and Motors. David served as a board member for 25 years and won the Sportsman of the Year Award in 2000 for the Sabine Chapter of Ducks Unlimited.
He also served on the Orange City Council for six years, and was a past, and youngest, President of the Orange Rotary Club.
David was a guiding light and inspiration to many. He loved his family dearly and will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

David was always there through his Faithful and Unselfish dedication to the employees and citizens of Orange County, from the beginning of September 29th, 1980, to the closing of Orange County Ambulance in June of 2006.”

He is preceded in death by parents, Marjorie and Lannie Claybar.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 54 years, Peggy Stringer Claybar; sons, Lannie Lloyd Claybar II and wife Melanie, David Christian Claybar and wife Sabrina; grandchildren, Annabelle Claybar, Caroline Claybar, Keller Claybar, Alyssa Ardoin, Walker Smith, Colton Smith, Breelyn Lemaire; brother, William Brown Claybar and wife, Linda; sister-in-law, Betty Trotter; brother-in-law, Bill Stringer and wife Cheri; nieces and nephews, Warren Claybar and wife Brandi, Sarah Claybar, Laurie Cook, Wil Trotter and wife Shawn, Chris Trotter and wife Kari, Cody Stringer and wife Davina, and Alyson Stringer.
Serving as pallbearers will be Ricky Land, Jarvis Buckley, Richard Terry, Charles Duchamp, Jeff Thibodeaux, Ambrose Claybar, and Larry Webb. Honorary pallbearers are David E. Frenzel and Terry Clark.

J.H. Oswalt, 84, of Orange, Texas, left his worldly home on August 22, 2023.
Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m., Saturday, August 26, 2023, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Officiating will be Reverend Bobby Edwards. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Orange.
Visitation will begin prior to the service at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, August 26, 2023, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
Jay was born November 26, 1938, in Huxley, Texas to Aaron and Joy Oswalt. Jay and Pat were members of Eastgate United Pentecostal Church in Vidor, Texas. Jay was a retired Pipefitter out of Local 195. Jay enjoyed anything outdoors. He loved fishing and gardening. He was a great servant, provider, loving husband and father. He was a leader and was respected by all of his family. He was the rock and the fixer. The one that everyone depended on to do what was right and to be in the will of the Lord. Most importantly, Jay and Pat raised their children in church, teaching them to know and love the Lord. Jay was a fierce prayer warrior. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends who knew him and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Pat Oswalt, his father and mother, Aaron and Joy Oswalt, and brothers, Jimmy and Bobby Oswalt.
He is survived by three sons and one daughter, Keith Oswalt, and wife Amy of Huxley. Steve Oswalt and wife Kim of Center. Randy Oswalt and wife Daneen of Thicket. Carol Flanigan and husband Don of Orange. Four granddaughters. Haley Parks and husband Will of Huxley. Rachel Noack and husband Darrel of Thicket. Malorie Flanigan of Orange and Whitney Flanigan of Orange. Four Great grandchildren, Easton, Rhett, and Bryce Parks of Huxley and Carsyn Noack of Thicket. Three sisters, Margia Cutaia of Orange, Martha and Jim Rogers of Orange, and Patsy and Mike McDonald of Porter. Sister-in-Laws, Linda Oswalt of Bridge City, Peggy James and Shirley Fisher of Orange, and Jo-Ann Henderson of Silsbee.
Serving as pallbearers will be Bryan Oswalt, Brent McDonald, Kreig Oswalt, Kyle Oswalt, Kevin Oswalt, Darwin Brack, Dan Brack, and Ronnie Peveto.
Our loving mother and amazing granny, Alice Marie (Snow) Stephens, 86, of Orange, Texas, left this Earth for her Heavenly home on August 21, 2023, in Port Arthur, Texas. We have no doubt that she was met at the gate by the love of her life.
Born in Danville, Kentucky on October 6, 1936, she was the daughter of Boyd Snow and Maudie (Johnson) Snow. Alice married Andrew J. Stephens on October 16, 1963. Andrew stole her heart, and she would’ve followed him to the ends of the Earth, and she did just that… all the way to Texas! She always spoke fondly of her Kentucky home and was very proud of it. Alice was never a wealthy woman, at least not in the material way, but she felt like a queen when spending time with those she loved. “It’s the people you love that make you rich” she would say. She made the best of whatever she had- always. Alice would share with those she loved to the point of becoming penniless. In fact, she would go hungry to give her loved ones anything they wanted.
Alice had the God-gifted voice of an angel. She loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and gave her heart to him as a very young girl. Alice made her way along with younger siblings to the Salvation Army which was within walking distance of her home. She was a soldier in the Army of the Lord for over 80 years. Alice loved the old-fashioned gospel hymns and would lift her voice and sing to the Lord with all her might and soul.
She was preceded in Heaven by a host of loved ones that included her husband, Andrew; parents, Boyd and Maudie Snow; sisters, Nancy, Bonnie, and Peggy; brothers, Jimmy, and Boyd Jr.; grandson, Marcus; great-grandson, Gabriel; and many cousins, other family, and friends who are filling Heaven at this very moment with a loud voice.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Mike and wife Lisa, Robert, Janet, Tammy, Nellie and husband Matt, Andrew and wife Michele, and Anna; grandchildren whom she loved more than life itself, Mike Snow, Jr., Madison Snow, Alisa Thompson, Tyler Cook, Daniel Posey, Alayce Glende, Elizabeth Weston, Tyler Miller, Andrew Stephens, III, Jonathon Stephens, Abigail Stephens, William Daugherty, Jesse Daugherty, Nick Daugherty, Ben Daugherty, Adena Goode, Miranda Sears, Jeremy Lai, and Jonathan Lai; the sparkle in her eye and her greatest joy, 27 great-grandbabies; sister, Mona Walker; brother, Tommy Snow; and a list of family that could fill a book.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 26, 2023, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange Texas. Officiating will be Reverend William Shafer. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Orange, Texas.
Visitation will be from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Friday, August 25, 2023, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
Serving as pallbearers will be Will Daugherty, Daniel Posey, Lil Andy Stephens, III, Tyler Miller, Boog Stephens, Taylor Weston, Jeff Glende, and Justin Toney.
Honorary pallbearers are Andrew Stephens, II, Michael Snow, and Matt Miller.
We will close with this thought to everyone- “If you could give, would you? If you couldn’t, would you give anyway?” Love, Alice.
William Bacon, age 56, of Bridge City, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, August 16, 2023, in Beaumont, Texas. Services honoring William will be held at Dorman Funeral Home, at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, August 23, 2023, with interment following at Ida Wilson Cemetery, Pastor Shane Weaver officiating. A visitation for family and friends will be held Tuesday evening, August 22, 2023, at Dorman Funeral Home, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
William was born on July 6, 1967, in Port Arthur, Texas. Employed by Bacon Coast2Coast, he took pride in his brother’s business and enjoyed working side by side every day with his family. William was a Bridge City volunteer fireman for many years and loved everything about it, when he spoke about being a firefighter it was with pride. William was also a longtime member of the APA Pool League. He loved to spend his free time shooting pool and was good at it. If you knew him at all you knew he was very competitive (Definitely a “Bacon” trait).
William is survived by his mother Vera Bacon; wife of 25 years, Patricia Tillman Welch; children, Margaret LaCroix of Tennessee, Lee Martin and wife Lacy of Bridge City, and Trisha (Tova) Welch of Bridge City; brothers, Hilton Bacon and wife Lana of Bridge City, Wayne Bacon and his wife Tracey of Pennsylvania, Jaycee Bacon, Jared Bacon, John Bacon, Charles Moore and wife Brandy of Alabama, and Paul Moore and wife Misty of Florida; sisters, Dana Cormier and husband Bryan of Louisiana, Dianna Gilley of Bridge City, Jennifer Bacon of Houston, and Kayla Bacon of Houston. Four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers honoring William will be Byron Bacon, Joshua Taylor, Nathan Fowler, Rodney Mosier, Aaron McNeil, and Hannah Best. Honorary pallbearers are Bailee Bacon, Jaycee Bacon, Jared Bacon, and John Bacon.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking donations to be made to Bridge City Fire Department.
