Gift of Life is looking for a few good men.

Not exactly, they are looking for men in the Orange area who want to take control of their health and sign up for the prostate cancer screening program.

To qualify for the screening, you must

• Live in Southeast Texas
• Have limited income
• Be at least 40 (some exemptions apply)

According to their website,

In 2000, Gift of Life expanded its mission to include a regional men’s health initiative to provide much-needed prostate cancer screenings and other essential care to men in need.

Other than skin cancer, prostate cancer is the most common cancer in American men and is the second-leading cause of cancer death. However, the five-year survival rate of localized prostate cancer is nearly 100%. Early detection truly is the best protection!
