JV Bobcats Dominate Titans

The Orangefield JV Bobcats improved to 2-0 with a 24-8 home win over the Spring Legacy School of Sport Sciences Titans JV.

The JV Bobcats led 6-0 in the 1st quarter when Ashton Sumrall capped off a 73-yard offensive drive scoring from 3 yards out. Late in the 2nd quarter, DL Austin Rickenbrode blocked a punt and recovered it on the Titans 3 yard line. On the next play, Kyler Green scored from 3 yards out to give the Bobcats a 12-0 lead. On the next possession, Rylan McAlpin intercepted a pass to secure the halftime lead for the Bobcats.

The Bobcats would score again with 3 minutes left in the 3rd quarter when Steyle Spurlock ran for a 27-yard touchdown to expand the Bobcat lead to 18-0. The Titans would score in the 4th quarter to cut the Bobcats’ lead to 18-8. The Bobcats would respond with another 3-yard touchdown run by Kyler Green, to lead 24-8. Steyle Spurlock would secure the Bobcats’ win with a late interception.

Defensive standouts were Rickenbrode, McAlpin, Spurlock, and Kaleb Menard. Offensively, lineman Kim Tsan and Daniel Wilbur along with running backs Green, Sumrall, Spurlock, and Gabe Maricle helped lead the Bobcats to victory.

The JV Bobcats will be at Shepherd next week.

The Strutters participated at the ADTS Team Camp this week and took home many awards. Mrs. Cude stated about the team, “The Strutters worked as one- always supporting and encouraging when 16-hour dance days became exhausting. Each day they pushed and gave more!”
