Lady Bobcats JH Volleyball takes on Hardin

Hardin Hornets traveled to take on the Bobcats last night
The Lady Bobcats 7th grade B team defeated the Hardin Hornets in three sets with Peyton Vincent leading the serves with 6 aces and Karlie Traxler adding 4 aces. Emma Bufford dominated the court with her serves and 2 kills. 16-14, 13-15, 15-1
The 8th grade B Team stay undefeated as they defeat the Hardin hornets in 2 sets. Cadley Gaudet started the night off strong with 9 serves in a row.(7 Aces) Our serves were too much for the hornets and the Lady Bobcats go on to win 15-2.
In the second set, defensive specialist, Addison Mouton handles the Hornets serves. Brynn Borel leads the team in attacks while Amelia McFatter, Kenli Vacek, and Addison Mouton rack up a kill! The Lady Bobcats win set 2 15-10. The 8th grade B team has a record of 4-0!
Last night the 7th Grade A team took Hardin to 3 sets and sadly fell to them in the 3rd. 25-13, 20-25, 15-8 The Lady Bobcats stayed aggressive with multiple kills on the front row from Hannah Bisson, Ava Johpseson, and Kinsley Mooore.
The top servers for the Bobcats included Jocelyn Droddy with 7 Aces for the night, Teal Kibodeaux with 4, and Laila Agerton with 2.
Ending the night was our 8A. Team chemistry was in full effect as our Bobcats sealed the win in two sets 25-19, 25-20. The leading server was Paisley Reeves- 13 serves, 5 Aces, and the leading attacker was Ava Walker with 7 total, 3 kills. Leading in assists was Mikayla Locke. An impressive back row performance in Eliese Gravett, leading in digs and back row attacks. Efforts from Lainey Maricle and Brenna Lee showed real composure hammering them with attacks and a strong block.
8A record extends to 13- 1 for the season and is undefeated in district play!
Shoutout to our Bobcat faithfuls- and by that I mean our loyal student fans! Your presence always provides an extra boost of energy and we appreciate you!

Hickman talks High School Football at Rotary Club

Head coach and athletic director Hiawatha Hickman spoke to a packed room at the Orange Texas Rotary Club.

Hickman talked about the upcoming 2023 football season, their playoff chances, and the hard work the Mighty Mustangs have put in to prepare for the season.

The Strutters participated at the ADTS Team Camp this week and took home many awards. Mrs. Cude stated about the team, “The Strutters worked as one- always supporting and encouraging when 16-hour dance days became exhausting. Each day they pushed and gave more!”
