Mustangs and Bobcats split Boys Basketball

West Orange-Stark traveled to Orangefield on Saturday for a JV and Varsity matchup.

The Junior Varsity matchup was a close one with the lead changing multiple times. A last-second shot by West Orange put them on top 29-28

Varsity was a different story. Orangefield easily dominated the scoreboard for the entire game, despite a hard fight from the Mustangs.

Pete Ragusa added to his 1000-plus point record with 24 points. Leyton Loft, Brady Anderson, and Zane Wrinkle each scored over 10 points a piece for Orangefield.

Orangefield point spread against WO-S

For the Mustangs, Chadrick Lee shot for 9 points and Ja-Vaughnte Richard scored 8.

Orangefield will travel to Hamshire-Fannett on Tuesday while West Orange’s Huffman game has been canceled. They will next see action this weekend in the YMBL tournament and then travel to Kountze.

Orangefield is undefeated after this matchup at 4-0 and West Orange is 1-2

Local teams see action during holidays

Orange, TX- Most area schools start the holiday break this week. However, local basketball teams will be busy during the holidays. McNeese State University will host the Bayou Border Battle again this year. Local SETX teams will play against neighboring SWLA teams during the two-day event.

Orangefield pulls out win from Kelly

The Bobcats overcame an ugly game to beat Kelly in their tournament today. 

Pete Ragusa (#5) led the Bobcats with 18 points. Maddox (#30) scored for 11, while Dischler (#13) put 10 points on the board.

Orangefield will face the loser of the Nederland-Lumberton match on Friday at 7:30 PM.

The Bobcat undefeated streak ended last night in a hard-fought overtime match-up against Hamshire-Fannett

Pete Ragusa (#5) shot for 26 points with 6 rebounds, 4 assists, and 2 steals.

Zane Wrinkle (#4) had 16 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists, and 2 steals.

Brayden Parker (#10) scored 10 points, 2 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals.

The Bobcats will face off against Kelly on Thursday for the Nederland before facing Buna on the 13th for their first District Game.
