OJH Girls Basketball vs. East Chambers

On Thursday night, the OJH Lady Bobcats hosted East Chambers for their last home game of the season.

 The 7th grade B-team bounced back this week with an 8-1 win against the East Chambers Buccaneers. Parker Hebert took the ball to the rim with four points and had one rebound. Raleigh Forse had two points and two steals. To secure the game, Adyson Cude had two points that came from free throws and two great defensive steals. 

 

The 7th grade A-team defeated the East Chambers Buccaneers, 45-13. The Bobcats played a strong defensive game with a combined total of 25 steals. Laila Agerton, Arianna Collazo, Karlie Traxler, and Aspen Babin were powerhouses in the paint with a total of 12 points, nine steals, and five rebounds. Collazo also contributed a block. Ava Josephson led the Lady Bobcats with 21 points and five steals. Teal Kibodeaux rounded out the win with eight points, four steals, and a block.

The Lady Bobcats remain undefeated in district!

The 8th grade A-team closed out the night with another win, 30-18. Mikayla Locke led with 17 points, six steals and five rebounds. Madison McCormack contributed seven points, seven steals, four rebounds, and a block! Olivia Smith also had seven steals.

This team extends their record 6-0 in the district and 12-1 overall.

The Lady Cats would also like to extend a special “Thank you” to the Lady Bucs. They brought goodie bags for each player to show their support for the Bobcat community in the wake of the storm. Their generosity is greatly appreciated!

The last game of the season for the Lady Cats will be against the Hardin Hornets on Monday.

Monday High School Basketball Round-up

BC boys beat Buna Monday 51-50 with a 3 point buzzer beater by Fernando Rodriguez. Leading the efforts was Walker Britten with 14 pts 2 steals, 2 assist, Bryce Linder 13 pts and Aaden Bush 9 pts and 6 rebounds.

Tuesday the Cards hosted Kelly Catholic and took care of business 57-36.

Leading the cardinals was Bryce Linder 11 points 7 Rebs, Lincoln Breaux 10 pts 6 Rebs, Walker Britten 9 pts 5 assist.

Other team notables, 36 rebounds 15 assist. Cards are 11-9 heading into Christmas break.

LCM Bears lost a tough game to 5A #14 Lake Charles Barbe (LA) 53-48

Bears led by Ben Elliott 25, Da’Marion Morris 10.

Bears fall to 15-5 and will play next at the LCM/IP Classic on December 29-30.

Deweyville hosted Kountze on Monday and came away with a very impressive win led by seniors Noah Watson 30 pts, 6 rebounds, 4 assist, 3 rebounds and Nathan Berry 22 Pts 8 rebounds.

The Evadale boys lose a tough home game against 4A Huffman 67-54. Leading the Rebels was Jaden Gravis with 11pts, Warren Brewer added 10 pts and Ethan Buford and Devin Terrel each contributed 9 pts.

Vidor Boys came away with a disappointing loss against Sulphur 64-53.

Pirate standouts were Bryce Loftin with 24 pts, Brayden Root 10 pts 7 rbs and
Zander Lindsey 9 pts

The Rebels fall to a 7-11 going into the break but have played a very difficult pre season getting them prepared for district play.

Girls

The BC girls traveled to Beaumont to take on Legacy Christian. The Lady Cards went into OT to take the win 41-35 led by Morgan Louvier with 13 pts, 3 rebound and 3 steals. Whitney Cunningham dropped in 9 pts and Rylynn Thorton added 7 pts, 13 rebounds and 4 steals.

LCM Lady Bears also played against a loaded D1 team in Lake Charles Barbe HS and loss 59-31. Keylie Washburn lead the Lady Bears with 18 pts and 9 Rebs.

Most Orange area teams are off until after Christmas break. Some of our local boy teams will be playing in the LCM/IP Classic while the lady’s will play in Buna at their tournament December 29-30.
