On Tuesday. the Orange County Commissioner’s Court declared October 11th as Gift of Life: Breast and Ovarian Cancer Day in Orange County.

Quintella Smith of Quintessential Business Solutions spoke to the court about the need for early detection and awareness of Breast Cancer. 

Smith stated, “Except for Skin Cancer, Breast Cancer is the most common form of Breast Cancer in Women.”

According to Smith, 1 in 8 American women develop Breast Cancer in their lifetimes. Ovarian Cancer is the 5th most deadly cancer in America. 

She went on, “This year nearly 3500 Texas women will succumb to breast cancer.”

According to Smith, “Gift of Life is the most preeminent cancer-fighting organization of its kind in the State of Texas.”

Smith announced that the Gift of Life Program will be holding a 5K Monster Dash program to raise critical funding to help its Ovarian and Breast Cancer programs. 

The race will be in Downtown Beaumont on October 29th
