Orangefield’s 8-3 victory on Tuesday caused them to move up 4 spots in the Maxpreps Texas baseball rankings.

This puts them at #19 in overall Baseball rankings for all Texas Varsity Baseball Teams

It also puts them in the number 1 spot in the Beaumont area clubs.

MaxPreps works with UIL in scores and standings. According to their website, the rankings are not a poll of coaches, sportswriters, or fans.

The system utilizes the huge number of game results stored in the MaxPreps database. Generally, the more a team wins, the higher the ranking. However, the system takes into account quality wins (against other highly ranked opponents) and strength of schedule.

For example, a team’s ranking is hurt more by losing to a team that is ranked below them than a team ranked ahead.

Movement indicates the up or down movement within the rankings when compared to their previously published rankings.
